Comox Valley RV Rentals

Comox Valley RV (CVRV) rents new or current model year trailers at rates that will surprise you. Nice and clean for your family and friends. Our trailers can be delivered to your favourite campsite on Vancouver Island or you can come pick it up and tow it yourself. The choice is yours. Used Trailer Rentals - Pet Friendly!

We also have a selection of very clean used units that are available for rent. We allow pets in all our used trailers. A pet charge of $100 will be required. Ask about our current selection. Pricing below is approximate and will vary depending on size of the unit.

Peak Season (June 1 - September 11)

SAVE 7 days for the price of 6 - $540 /wk or $90 /day (3 day minimum)

Shoulder Season (March 1 - May 31 and Sept. 11 - Oct. 31)

SAVE 7 days for the price of 6 - $480 /wk or $75 /day (3 day minimum)

Rental Rates

Delivered Trailers

A separate Delivery/Hookup/Setup charge of $98.00 and a Preparation fee of $75.00 applies to rentals. The preparation fee of $75.00 covers pre-delivery preparations, the first tank of propane, 4 rolls of toilet paper and all other consumable supplies provided including holding tank chemicals and potable water fill.

No mileage charge on all deliveries under 15 km. There is a mileage fee of $1.95 /km calculated one way only. A Gravel Road Charge up to 15 km $25.00, over 15 km $50.00 and over 50 km $100.00.

Delivered units include accident insurance with deductable (See Insurance - Delivered Units section). A Damage/Cleaning/Security deposit is required for all rentals.

Self Towed Trailers

A Hookup fee of $98.00 and a Preparation fee of $75.00 applies to rentals. The preparation fee of $75.00 covers pre-delivery preparations, the first tank of propane, 4 rolls of toilet paper and all other consumable supplies provided including holding tank chemicals and potable water fill. All selftowed units require suitable hitch, equalizer, wiring and brake controller to rent a trailer to be towed. The vehicle to be used must also be suitable to handle the weight of the trailer requested. Please ensure your equipment is working in advance of pickup. The complete hitch and assembly can be purchased or rented and installed. Our booking agent will review all requirements. Self Towed units require a Rental Insurance Policy from ICBC (See Insurance - Self Towed Units section). A Damage/Cleaning/Security deposit is required for all rentals.

Standard Trailer Equipment (included)

All trailers are equipped with the following items: Water Hose - Sewer Hose - Operator's Manual, Campground Guide - Road Atlas - 110v Adaptor - Flash-Light & Batteries - First Aid Kit - Fire Extinguisher.

Each trailer has the following amenities: Set of pots, Kettle, Toaster, Coffee maker with filters, Cutting board, Strainer, Garbage can, dishes and cutlery for 6 to 10 individuals depending size of trailer, 2 serving platters, 2 large serving bowls, 1 stainless mixing bowl, 2 tea towels & 2 dish clothes, Oven mitt, Wine opener, Bottle & can opener, Tongs, ladle, 2 flippers, straining spoon, Whisk, Salad serving fork and spoon, Measuring cup, Cheese grader, 5 Piece knife set in holder, Ice cube tray, Dish Soap, Table Cloth, Broom/dustpan, Bath mat, Garbage can, 4 rolls toilet paper, Holding tank chemicals, AM/FM CD player, Awning, BBQ with utensils, 2 Chairs and an Entry Mat.

Additional Equipment Hire

Bedding Kits - The $25.00 per person/per trip covers the following: 1 comforter or blanket, 1 sheet (per bed), 1 pillow & pillow slip, 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel, 1 face cloth.

Baby/Child Seat - $39.00 per rental

Camping Chair - $9.00 per chair

Generator - from $15.00 per day with unlimited use

Mountain Bike Carrier Rentals - $50.00 per bike carrier

Pet Charge - a separate pet charge of $100.00 per rental is applicable on Pet permitted units. The renter is still liable for all damage to the unit caused by pet. No pets are allowed in regular rental units.

All bookings for Peak Periods made prior to June 1st are for a minimum of a 1 week period. All weekly rental periods run from Friday to Friday or Saturday to Saturday. After June 1st the minimum booking period is 3 days. At the time of booking, we require a non-refundable deposit of $300.00 on rentals. Deposit is charged only upon confirmation of reservation. The minimum age for RV rental is 21 years of age for delivered units and 25 years of age or older for self towed units. Drivers for Self Towed trailers must show a valid driver’s license on pickup. All renters must possess a valid credit card. A Rental Day is determined on a “per night” basis. The pick-up day is counted as the first rental day and there is no charge for the last rental day. Rental dates may be extended if available but not contracted.

Rates do not include: Transfers to/from locations, bedding kits, one-way charges, gasoline and propane refuelling and additional toilet chemicals, security deposits, sales tax and other government surcharges if applicable.

Payment

Rental and tax charges are payable at pickup. All renters must possess a valid credit card. Payment can be made by VISA or Mastercard.

Cancellation

We will endeavor to work with you to either re-schedule or try to rent your reserved time. If we are successful in renting the unit to another party a $100.00 processing fee will be assessed. Failure to re-rent or re-schedule the unit will result in loss of rental and tax charges received. Once the rental period has started there can be no refund off the total rental contract.

Security Deposit

A security deposit will be required at pick-up to cover cleaning, mileage or damage. Rentals require a security deposit of $500 ($1000 for drivers 21 to 24 years). An open credit card authorization is taken at departure for all rentals. Security deposits must be made by credit card and are processed. Deposits are refunded when the trailer is returned clean, undamaged, on time, holding tanks empty and equipment complete usually within 48 hours. Additional deposits may be required for special events.

Pickup And Returns

Weekly rental periods run from Friday to Friday or Saturday to Saturday.

Trailer Pickup or Delivered - 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Trailer Return or Check Out - 9:00 am to 11:00 am

Drivers for self towed trailers must have a suitable tow vehicle and be properly equipped to tow including equalizer hitch and brake controller. Sorry no refunds for early returns. All holding tank valves to be in open position upon return.

Delivered trailers check in will occur anytime from 1:00 pm to no later than 4:00 p.m. (unless prior arrangements have been made.) We will endeavor to meet your requirements at the site of your choice. Check-out will be no later than 11 AM. Late charges of $50.00 per hour are assessed for overdue units. Delivered units cannot be moved without permission from CVRV.

Late charges for drop offs after 11:00 am will be $50 /hour

Trailer Walk Around & Review

Time will be spent to acquaint the renter with the use and operation of the trailer. This will cover all aspects necessary for the enjoyment of a recreational vehicle. Please allow 30 – 60 minutes for instruction, paperwork and unpacking.

Airport & Train Transfers

Pick up and drop off from any Vancouver Island airport is available. No charge for Comox Airport. There will be a nominal charge for other island airports.

Insurance - Delivered Units

Customer contents are not covered by our insurance and are the sole responsibility of the renter.

Comox Valley RV maintains liability coverage on all their rental trailers to a maximum of $1,000, 000 for any bodily injury and property damage liability claims arising from the operation or use of it’s rental vehicles. Premiums for this basic public liability coverage are included in all rental rates, which also includes premiums for collision insurance and comprehensive insurance with a deductable of $1,000 per occurrence. In the event of loss or damage to vehicle while on rental, whether or not due to the fault of the rental customer, the customer’s responsibility for direct and accidental loss or damage is limited to a maximum of $1,000 per occurrence. There is no limit however if the rental trailer incurs loss or damage not covered by insurance as outlined below.

The renter is 100% responsible if damages are caused by: Any movement of the rental unit once it is delivered whether directly or indirectly without our express permission; Failure to maintain all fluid levels; Failure to use specified fuel or use of contaminated fuel; or fuel in water system; Operation by anyone under 21 years of age or not licensed; Deliberate or willful damage by renter or guests; Travel in restricted areas (see below); Towing of any kind (delivered trailers); Freezing of the vehicle’s systems; Damage occurring in an accident that the renter has failed to report to the police and Comox Valley RV; Nature damage (hail, storm, tornados);

Our insurance does not cover liability for loss of personal property, nor does it cover cost for accommodation, transportation or replacement of vehicle.

Insurance - Self Towed Units

Self towed trailers require a rental vehicle insurance policy which can be purchased from ICBC. Drivers of self towed units must be 25 years of age minimum. Please provide proof of coverage at the time of pickup.

The minimum coverage is as follows: Collision and Comprehension - Maximum $500 Deductable, $2,000,000. Liability Coverage on the towing vehicle and - $1,000,000. on the rental trailer 

All damage repairs must be authorized by CVRV before proceeding.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted in the units. We strictly enforce a non-smoking policy in our trailers. A penalty of $250.00 will be charged at drop off if we detect cigarette, cigar, pipe or odours in the trailer. Some units are designated as Pet units and will require a separate pet charge.

Cleaning

We require that the units be returned in the same condition as you received it clean and undamaged. Damage is the sole responsibility of the renter and costs must be settled at the termination of the rental period. Any damage must be noted on the check in sheet to prevent back charges. Holding tanks must be regularly drained and flushed during use and when you have completed your stay.

Event Surcharge & Holiday Weekends

Season supplements and extended minimum rental periods may apply during some events and holiday weekends.

Travel Restrictions - Unauthorised Travel Areas

Please note the following conditions: There is no insurance coverage and client will be responsible for all damages if the vehicle is driven to an unauthorized area without approval.

These areas include logging and non public roads, travel to Mexico, the Alaska Highway north of Fort St. John, Cassiar Highway (#37) north of Meziadin Junction, Highway 35 north of Peace River, Quebec & Labrador north and east of Sept-Iles and all roads in the Yukon/Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Labrador and Newfoundland. There is a $900 penalty for unauthorized driving in these areas.

Travel is limited to Canada. Absolutely no off-road or logging road use is permitted.

Northern Travel Supplement

All rental trailers traveling to the Northwest Territories or the Yukon are permitted and must be confirmed in advance. A $450.00 prepaid non-refundable supplement is required.

Substitutions

Comox Valley RV is entitled to upgrade customers to a higher rated trailer at no extra cost. Should a lower rated unit be offered, the responsibility of the CVRV is limited to the refund of the difference in the gross rental rate.

Repairs & Refund

Necessary repairs are refunded without previous authorization up to $50.00. Customer must provide receipts. If customers pay repairs exceeding $50.00 without previous authorization, we will not refund.

Office Hours & Holidays

Office hours 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Mondays through Saturdays and closed on Sundays.

Closed on Canadian and Provincial Holidays - Closed: Jan. 1, Feb. 21, Apr. 22, May 23, Jul 1, Sep 5, Oct. 10, Dec. 25 & 26.

Every effort has been made to ensure that the information on our website and brochure is correct. Rental unit descriptions are general and are subject to change without notice. Prices are also subject to change without notice however, once booked, prices will not change. Please see our pricing page for other charges. Comox Valley RV will not be held responsible for any losses incurred by renters which may have resulted from rental units being damaged, stolen, or returned late by previous renters.
